Amboseli National Park

2 Deal Offers

Located east of Kenya’s capital, Amboseli is a paradise for elephant lovers. The park hosts the largest population of Kenya’s elephants, which are also more tolerant of vehicles and human activity. This makes it the best place to view, enjoy, and photograph some of the biggest and most majestic elephants in Africa.

Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro, beautifully decorates the background of the park. The park offers stunning views of the African sunrise and sunset as the early or late light of the sun covers the mountain with magnificent hues of purple and pink.

Amboseli embodies five main wildlife habitats (open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps, and marshland) and covers part of a Pleistocene lake basin, now dry. In addition to the elephants, the park also features Leopard, Cheetah, Wild dogs, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Crocodile, Mongoose, Hyrax, Dik-dik, Lesser Kudu, Nocturnal Porcupine as well as 600 species of birds

The observation hill, Enameshera, is one of the few places inside the park where walking is allowed. From the hill, one can enjoy panoramic views of the marshy lands below, the extensive vegetation, and the magnificent Mt Kilimanjaro.

Surrounding the park is the famous Kenyan community of the Maasai. Visits to their villages are allowed and highly advised in order to get a chance to view, experience, and appreciate the communities’ way of life.
